Seems to have solved the problem. Everything is working as expected.

Still doesn't work on a Lenovo ThinkPad. Same behavior as before. Though, again (and I'm beginning to feel like a broken record here), this MAY be an upstream bug in shim for which a fix appears to be available, if only Fedora would pull it in.

Does this build include the following PR, which works to try to address some of the issues with fwupd? https://github.com/rhboot/shim/pull/379 Link to relevant fwupd page: https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/wiki/LVFS-Triaged-Issue:-Failed-to-run-update-on-reboot

For what it's worth, I did try updating shim to 15.4-5 from the F35 repo, but saw no change in behavior.

I'm seeing the same issues as before -- with Secure Boot enabled, no attempt to install the update is made. After disabling Secure Boot, an attempt is made, but the update fails. It appears as though there have been some issues with shim resulting in this behavior though: https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/wiki/LVFS-Triaged-Issue:-Failed-to-run-update-on-reboot Perhaps this is the culprit? After disabling secure boot, the system updates normally. Could this be a bug in shim? https://github.com/rhboot/shim/pull/379

Also unable to update Lenovo after updating to 1.6.3. Same behavior as in 1.5.12 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1996403. As such, I'm not seeing any new loss of functionality, it just appears to be as broken as it was in 1.5.12.
