This update fixes #1430259 for the Fedora 25 branch, too.
This issue has been discussed at length in #1430259 and references therein. Kernels later than 4.10.9 are affected. Upstream has introduced this regression and is aware of it.
Neither is it possible to launch an existing VM nor is it possible to launch a live session booting from a Fedora live media. Boxes then returns a message like:
"$ gnome-boxes Boxes-Message: machine.vala:209: display Fedora 25 disconnected
(gnome-boxes:4445): GSpice-WARNING **: (spice-widget.c:2360):update_mouse_mode: code should not be reached Boxes-Message: machine.vala:209: display Flash 25 disconnected"
Downgrading to gnome-boxes-3.24.0-1.fc26 restores proper functionality.
Since this build was pushed, GNOME 3.24.2 with many updated packages has been released, and it seems that libgweather-3.24.0-2.fc26 now actually does the job: both in a live session booting from image Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-26-20170516.n.0.iso and in a fully updated Fedora 26 virtual guest, gnome-initial-setup executes without any issue after upgrading to libgweather-3.24.0-2.fc26. Package libgweather-3.24.0-2.fc26 should be simply pushed to updates-testing once again.
Upgrade triggers #1446879 and another possibly different crash with unusable backtrace after granting access to geolocation information. Both issues simply terminate the GNOME session. After logging in again, weather information is displayed as expected.
