working fine on lenovo p16s amd gen2 : boot, standby, sound, video. i see no issues since i upgraded yesterday. the issues i was seeing in firefox (freezes) is gone, but this was a firefox issue and not a kernel issue. this kernel is working nicely.

launched and uploaded the kernel-tetsts.

@mc-hobbel : the display issues I have are related to a Radeon 780M. Are you also using a Radeon card ?

@robatino : thanks for the tip. Will try it if the issue comes again.

Been using the kernel for over a day. Everything seems to work fine but when the screen is turned off and locked because I go away, when I come back, it is impossible to get the screen working again. Moving the mouse or typing on the keyboard does nothing : the screen stays black and turned off.

When I put the laptop to sleep and open the lid again, the screen turns on again and works.

Lenovo P16s AMD gen2 with 7840U CPU and 780M Radeon.

A suspend/resume works around the issue, so it's not totally blocked. But it's something that doesnt happen with the previous kernel.

@gbcox : seems you are very right. i started a few youtube videos and after a few playing at the same time on several tabs, the machine seems.. a bit laggy but not totally borked like in the previous kernel. I am seeing those messages in my log currently, a LOT of them :

@gbcox : the issue you are reporting I did suffer in the previous kernel version : FEDORA-2024-b06c6291d7 first time i see it happen i was listening to music using totem while doing some C++ on CLion on another virtual desktop. Not only did the sound went bad and with micro-freezes, but the macihne became HIGHLY irresponsive. I had a huge lag when movint the mouse. Not a nice experience. I did also happen later while watching Youtube. So this did happen to me at least twice on the previous kernel. Not seen it happen yet on this one. But if it does happen again, like it does for you, it probably was introduced in either the previous kernel, or a few kernels ago. I don't watch much movies, my main laptop is mostly for programming :D I could see some "trigger" or "triggered" messages on the journal -f I always keep running on my first virtual desktop. and those seemed to be related to pipewire mostly.

working fine on lenovo p16s amd gen2 : boot, sound, modern standby, wifi, etc. 7850u + 780m. kernel tests run and uploaded. gbcox not been able to reproduce your youtube video playing on my laptop.

Since 2 days in a row I am experience serious video playing issues, Could be sound related because the first time the issue did happen it was while using Totem to listen to music. Suddenly the laptop "slows" extremely and becomes extremely unresponsive. Moving the mouse is extremely difficult, the laptop looks like it runs VERY slowly.

I am seeing this in the logs when it happens :

Seems something is wrong with pipewire but... this is not related to the kernel, is it ??
