Sorry, I've run into another Python 3 issue.
Tests OK, same comments as here applies though:
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/python-idstools-0.6.1-1.fc25#comment-613450
Tests OK, tried Python 2 and 3.
I still find it odd that "dnf install python-idstools" installs the Python 2, but gives you commands that are versioned, instead of unversioned commands. For usability, the unversioned package, should probably give you the unversioned commands, whether that is Python 2 or 3 I'm not too concerned. But from https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:Python#Naming, we have:
"The unversioned executable must be the python2 version."
which suggests this should be the Python 2 version.
My main interest with these issues is usability for new users with some quick start guides I have planned focusing on using CentOS and Fedora as Suricata platforms.
Tested OK on CentOS 7 while Suricata was installed. Testing both Python 2 and 3.
