As packager this is my source of truth. It needs to reflect current policy.

Yeah, I get it. Nextcloud 29 is going to be the last version available for el9, due to the php requirements. I'll continue to add minor 29.x releases as they become available. The fedora branches will move to Nextcloud 30 in the coming weeks after its release.
I'm personally going to stay with Nextcloud 29 until after rhel 10 is released in 2025. The RHEL 10 branches for EPEL have recently been created and I've already pushed Nextcloud to it.

I did some looking into and discovered our file, nextcloud-defaults.inc, needs to be updated to reflect changes in the .htaccess file provided by upstream. Little has changed in nextcloud-defaults.inc since it was first imported 7 years ago, so there are lots of changes to review.
Just so I understand the changes better, I am going to go through them line-by-line, rather than just copy paste. I've got travel plans this week, so I'm not sure yet when I'll get this done.
I mock built 29.0.2 a week or two ago... it seemed to work, but the admin dashboard claimed none of the http redirects were working (the ones we move to http config rather than htaccess). There were several warnings about that. I got the same message on both Fedora 40 and Rocky Linux 9.
I haven't looked at the 29.0.3 release notes yet. Maybe it was a bug that got fixed.
It would be interesting to know if you are able to see the same issue on your end.
8.1.3 was the latest release, when this package was built.
8.1.7 is in rawhide. If you want to see it in f45, then open a bug report and state exactly what new features and bug fixes are needed for your application.
