wireless-tools has been deprecated upstream for roughly a decade. Why do you even have it installed? Please consider uninstalling wireless-tools and using iw as a replacement if you actually need it.
I'm not aware of any particular problem. The build was simply ignoring some of the standard linker flags, including those in redhat-hardened-ld. The change now subjects the build to those linker options.
