  • was not affected by BZ#1891225 at all as patch was already applied

Interesting, on EPEL7 with python2-dns 1.12.0 this is not happening, digging further I found that here following patch is applied:

pyspf-2.0.14-dns-query.patch

-> this patch must be also applied to EPEL8, then it's fine...

the internal "DNSLookup_pydns" is broken regarding IPv6, there is also some FIXME comment there...

forget my comment regarding "ipaddress"...it's somewhere earlier...
