/usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.mozilla.firefox.service file wa smoved to extra package but I'd need to investigate how to install the gnome/non-gnome .desktop file properly.

Is there a way to permanently disable this DBus service? Tried to mask it, but then Firefox wont start.

You need to set DBusActivatable=false at /usr/share/applications/org.mozilla.firefox.desktop and then you can remove /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.mozilla.firefox.service file.

Let's push this one and figure out the DBus stuff later.

I may consider to move it to extra package to avoid installation for desktops without it.

/usr/lib64/firefox/firefox --dbus-service /usr/bin/firefox is Firefox DBus service used as broker for Gnome search provider. It implements and provides org.freedesktop.Application DBus interface (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1894912).

Can we please move it to stable? It's needed for Firefox 125.0 build. Thanks.

Please file the CPU issue at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ and CC me there. Thanks.

Will do new update for it - it's mzbz#1875201.

Please check gnome-shell-45.2-3.fc40 it should fix it.

It's part of https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/RenameFirefoxDesktopFile and needs to be updated on gnome-shell side. Will file a bug for it.

AFAIK that change is needed for correct gnome search provider work. But yes we should not break so badly here. Will fire another build.

Fedora 38 doesn't even boot on Nehalem:

čen 30 16:36:15 fedora abrt-notification[8126]: [🡕] Process 1846 (gnome-shell) crashed in llvm::report_fatal_error(llvm::Twine const&, bool)()

This update has been unpushed.

I tested the builds on bare metal i7-3520M CPU (it's from Q2'12) and works without any problem. Also i7-9750H is ok.

Okay found the crash in OpenQA.
