This update will introduce the very disruptive bug 1183242 into a stable release. The bug is fixed upstream and a link to the fix is in the bugzilla report.
Rather, can't the patch to fix _cairo_bentley_ottmann_tessellate_rectangula issue be backported to the curent cairo instead of fully rebasing to 1.14.0? Anyway I think this type of full rebase is dangerous to stable releases.
FWIW, both Fedora 20 and 21 have random snapshots of unstable 1.13.x development series that led to 1.14.
Yes, and still rebasing now on stable branch is dangerous.
I spoke to the cairo upstream and fedora maintainer and orig just wanted to backport that fix, but in discussion it was suggested getting back to the stable release was a good idea. I saw bug 1183242 and perhaps I misread, but it didn't seem that urgent. I will comment there. This version has been in rawhide since nov of last year and bug 1183242 is the only reported issue I see. In any case will comment there.
At least not only root but shogun build met with bug 1183242 issue. Every package using doxygen (actually dot) may begin to fail to build with this update and I don't think this is a small issue.
That wasn't clear to me at least from the bug... but lets continue over there and revist this update after thats sorted out.
