pkcon refresh forceand waiting for the update process to finish now allows epson-inkjet-printer-escpr to be found in Gnome Software when started from
gnome-control-center printers.Starting from scratch and adding the printer after this process (see bug #1282446 for how the initial install doesn't wait for the install and sets the printer model to text) selects the right model and Firefox printed the Google home page correctly.
