In the context menu showing up beside the code tabs, apart from the list of open documents, there's a greyed out "Move to other view" and below "split horizontally" or "split vertically". When I click on one of thise "splits" nothing happens, but if I open the context menu again the other "split" appears. What are these splits suppose to be doing? I guess they are meant to split the code windows in two separate visible areas, but I don't get anything. I haven't noticed this apparent functionality in previous versions.
My fault, I've figured out how it works, and it does. Open two tabs, right click on one of them, click on "move to other view". Now split horizontally/vertically works.
I have heavy LaTeX editing tomorrow and on Friday. This will allow me to confirm functionality. I'll be back.
Works as well as the previous version.
The bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1392605 persists and crashes Texstudio when opening a file.
A workaround is installing the package qgnomeplatform.
