The current testing version predates a bug fix that is said to fix the failure of k3b to correctly invoke mkisofs or genisoimage to convert a VIDEO_TS folder of files into a DVD ".iso" image. The fix is discussed in this bug:

The implication is that the fix has been moved to the k3b git. I don't know the details of compiling k3b from this git record but I thought I would bring this major defect of k3b 17.4.1 and 17.4.3 to your attention.
