Can't hear any sound in Firefox after this update
Another info concerning my previous comment: there is no Firefox audio stream in Pulse audio stream list
Oh. Adblock Plus is totally unusable on webextensions - all advanced options and filter rules edit/debug features gone. Hello uBlock Origin! General feeling: Performance seems actually slightly improved.
Sound works here.
When running the Test Case "firefox addons", it seems that the addons in the Fedora Repo are outdated and need to get updated to the latest version to work with Firefox 57.
This update has been pushed to testing.
Don't use the Fedora addons, prefer to download addons directly from addons.mozilla.org (which btw has been redesigned for Fx 57). Must easier to find what you want and check compatibility, etc. and get timely updates. Probably not appropriate hold up stable release of the browser because addon xyz isn't working.
Works
Ok the sound problem was not a Firefox problem. +1 to firefox media
@gbcox The Test Case "firefox addons" requires to install the Addons that are available in the Fedora repo and test them. I was just running that Test Case. If you think it makes more sense to test Addons that are in the Firefox market, I'm sure you can sumbit a change to that Test Case somewhere. Until then, the Test Case is defined as such.
@emarci Yes, You're right, the test case for addon is clear. But, it's not the first time, that only the most recent version of a addon works with a new firefox. I personally considered it always as OK to give green, when the most recent version from addons.mozilla.org works, while repo version is outdated, as it's not a "real" regression. Setting addons to neutral anyway.
@emarci You misconstrued my comment. I completely understand what the "firefox addons" test case requires. I don't believe it belongs here. We're testing Firefox, not the addons. As I mentioned in my previous comment, probably not appropriate hold up stable release of the browser because addon xyz isn't working.
@samoht0 @gbcox completely aggree with you guys. In my understanding tests are there to bring something into attention when they fail. So I thought I bring them the situation to your attention, as nobody would notice it when just marking it as "green".
@emarci - no worries - and it's appropriate to test Fedora packaged Fx addons... just not as part of the testcase for Fx. I'll create a ticket on it - maybe there is a rationalization I'm missing - but just seems like a rabbit hole.
Video works. Sound works. Browsing works. Saved sessions work. Webextensions work. CSD works.
No regressions noted.
WFM, all my usual "workflow" (slack, github, youtube, reddit, random other sites) work.
works for me in a VM
