It's not just my own system affected, the Unified Receiver is a common component used by many people for Logitech keyboards and mice.

Wi-fi finally works for me. The earlier 4.12.x kernels were not usable because of this bug.
Works fine with Thinkpad X230 and T450s
I haven't noticed any regressions over 4.12.5.
