I tested this and confirmed it fixes the bug, thanks!
WFM, bug 1443206 solved
This update has been pushed to testing.
Upgrade triggers #1446879 and another possibly different crash with unusable backtrace after granting access to geolocation information. Both issues simply terminate the GNOME session. After logging in again, weather information is displayed as expected.
Bodhi is disabling automatic push to stable due to negative karma. The maintainer may push manually if they determine that the issue is not severe.
I confirm what @frieben is reporting. While #1443206 seems solved, there I have encontered #1446879 issues when opening gnome weather app the first time. Subsequent app usage works as espected.
see @frieben and @alciregi
As above

Since this build was pushed, GNOME 3.24.2 with many updated packages has been released, and it seems that libgweather-3.24.0-2.fc26 now actually does the job: both in a live session booting from image Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-26-20170516.n.0.iso and in a fully updated Fedora 26 virtual guest, gnome-initial-setup executes without any issue after upgrading to libgweather-3.24.0-2.fc26. Package libgweather-3.24.0-2.fc26 should be simply pushed to updates-testing once again.
Using Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-26-20170517.n.0.iso as is, it continues to crash. Installed libgweather-3.24.0-2.fc26 and only this package, rebooted the system, and initial-setup crashed; at the following login it worked. Weather app worked as well. Created a new user: no crash at the first login.
Again. Fresh install of Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-26-20170517.n.0.iso I DIDN'T login. From a tty I logged in as root. Installed libgweather-3.24.0-2.fc26. Rebooted. Logged in with the user created during the installation process. All is working as expected. But... gnome shell killed by signal 11 after a short time. And gnome-shell continues to crash when in gnome weather I turn on and off Automatic Location.
At this point: dnf update. Reboot. Gnome-shell continues to crash when, for instance, in gnome weather I turn off then on the Automatic location.
For me nothing ha changed. This update prevent first-login gnome-initial-setup from crash #1443206, but there are no changes for #1446879

Special note: I have re-submitted this update. According to @fmuellner , #1446879 is not caused by the changes in this update; that crash could be encountered with 3.24.0-1.fc26 as well.
In light of this, it makes no sense to hold up the fix for blocker bug #1443206 just because the update happens to still contain a different crasher bug that the previous package version was also susceptible to.
So, please: don't -1 this update if the only problem you have with it is that you run into the #1446879 crash. We would like to at least resolve the #1443206 crash with this update. Please only -1 this update if you believe it contains a problem that the existing stable package (3.24.0-1.fc26) does not.
Thanks!
After installing libgweather from koji and restarting, gnome-initial-setup no longer crashes after the privacy page.
Ok @adamwill It is true that initial setup doesn't crash anymore.
works for me in a VM

Karma has been reset.
3.24.0-3 adds an extra fix from upstream which I hope should help prevent the other crashes people have been seeing. Can folks please try -3 and report their experience? Thanks.
Initial setup doesn't lead anymore to a gnome shell crash and Weather app works as well.
Looks good to me!
