#1381671 appears to have been fixed by this update.

Unfortunately, as I recently had to reinit my google account connection in gnome-online-accounts, and the latter had dropped support for telepathy, I can't log in to google in empathy due to an authorization failure, so the test is incomplete (and I'll probably concur with the workstation WG move to stop using empathy/telepathy altogether).
