Tested, fix confirmed. Seems to work OK otherwise also.
Note, both user and root passwords are correctly encrypted in the kickstart written to the installed system (just thought I'd better check that too).
works
This update has been pushed to testing.
I have downloaded the KDE live ( Fedora-28-20180319.n.0), updated Anaconda, started Anaconda and installed the system to disk, set up root and user passwords. After the reboot, I could not log into the root account and root password was exclamation-marked in /etc/shadow. I cannot confirm this to be working.
I am afraid that I used a wrong anaconda version, this one was not part of the updates. I will retry with the correct one.
I can confirm now, that it is fully working as expected.
Giving back the karma I stole before.

Already pushed into stable, however tested with LXDE Live and root login okay.
