After installation my system stopped booting. I get only grub prompt.

Likewise, system does not boot after testing kernel-4.15.11-300-x86_64.fc27

System comes up normally once a cold boot occurs, warm boot stalled during boot but unclear where in the boot sequence.

It seems to me that the kernel update caused change to /etc/fstab, where it replaced: /dev/sdc none swap defaults 0 0 with UUID=xxxxx-yyyy-zzzz-xxxxxxxxx none swap defaults 0 0 what did not work on my system. Cold or hot boot did not make any difference, i tried both. After fixing the issue it started to boot as usually again.

With this update i am receiving a good deal of new AVC denial alerts.

Can those who are having problems file a bugzilla with system details? Please also confirm if warm vs. cold boot makes a difference (It works for me but I also did a cold boot).

Referring to volumes by UUID, not /dev/sdX, has been standard in Fedora mounts for years now, I don't think this kernel update would somehow cause it to happen where it did not before. Kernel updates cause dracut and new-kernel-pkg to run, which could somehow touch /etc/fstab I guess, but even if that caused your problem, it's not really a problem with this kernel update, as any re-run of dracut / new-kernel-pkg would probably do the same.

For the record I just updated my laptop to this kernel and it both warm and cold boots fine. But my /etc/fstab has used UUID= lines ever since I installed it.

Boots here on T450s, XS35GTv2 and a VM.

I think we should skip this kernel update. (Not booting)

wfm on i7-5820K. I didn't see any problem with cold boot and warm boot .

4.15.12 is out today so I'm going to push that as an update and obsolete this update. If you are having booting problems please file a bugzilla with system information. "It doesn't boot" with no information makes it difficult to narrow down the problem when many people do seem to be able to boot successfully.

works for me on a T450s

works for me but a bunch of do_IRQ: 6.44 No irq handler for vector messages today - anyways the next kernel build is already running

@goodmirek nobody but you is using /dev/sdX for nearly 20 years now in /etc/fstab

Works here, basic boot and usage / browser / steam / gameplay / terminal / updating / wifi.

Intel HD 3000 Graphics, Macbook Pro 8,1 Late 2011, Intel® Core™ i5-2415M CPU @ 2.30GHz × 4 , 8GB RAM

and 4.15.12 is a big regression beraking out-of-tree module-builds which is not expected by bugfix jumps from 4.15.11 to 4.15.12: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1559163

This update has been obsoleted by kernel-4.15.12-300.fc27.

Works for me, 4.15.12 does not. Did a warm boot after upgrade, system works as expected. No warnings from kernel regression performance test, as in 4.15.12
