works for me
wfm: desktop 16GB Intel i7-3770 CPU, laptop 16GB Intel i7-3610QM CPU (performance test took almost 2 hours, which i think is excessive!), laptop 8GB Intel i5-2520M CPU Lenovo T420 - all using the Mate Desktop Environment
Works fine for me: Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 20HGS22D0W Version: ThinkPad T470s
Works fine on a Dell E7470 / I5-6300U
Only thing is the microcode blacklist is outdated it shouldn't flag the 0xC2 microcode for the I5-6300U as buggy since Intel cleared it for release see: https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2018/02/microcode-update-guidance.pdf

works for me on a T450s
No regressions noticed.
The revert to fix https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1539250 still isn't in stable, so I'm still seeing this problem with 4.15.3 on 1 of 3 systems.

Not boot up on Lenovo X260 - black screen!
System fails to boot on this new kernel.
Desktop : Ryzen 1600x | AMD Vega 56

This should probably be removed from stable.
@markec no it should not - you are free to skip updates and boot as long as you need into the older working one or even set it to default - other than glibc & freinds you can have more than one kernel so until it don't work on your machine use 4.1.14.x and try to help the root cause to get it fixed yor you - running fine here on 6 phyiscal and 35 virtual machines including a whole production cluster of servers
Yeah, sure I'll help as much as I can. But just thought having a non-working kernel in stable repo is something we might not want. Already booted to 4.14 for now... Thanks for reply.
not booting (blank screen after grub) intel 8600k + gpu 630
last working config: revert to 4.14 (w/ i915.alpha_support=1 kernel param)

Freezes after login screen on Dell XPS 15 L502X (SandyBridge) with i5-2520M CPU, Intel 2nd gen GPU and nVidia GeForce GT 525M. There seems to be a regression in nouveau driver: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105174 .
Freezes at boot | Thinkad P51, Intel Xeon, Qaddro M 2200M, Nvidia driver
