Works fine for me!
FYI it looks like this package does not contain the latest microcode rev 0xb00002a for cpuid 0x000406f1 (Broadwell E/EX)
@tobbe did you run "dracut -f" before reboot - otherwise it's only available after the next kernel update generating a new initramfs - these days micro-code updates needs to be early loaded because they can remove features from the CPU
that's not the issue, i looked at the actual microcode versions provided in the package with iucode_tool and then i compared revision against the pdf from intel ( https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2018/03/microcode-update-guidance.pdf )
@tobbe @hreindl I did also get an "old" microcode (from January 21) for a Haswell (Intel G1840), was expecting something more recent.
looking at https://www.heise.de/security/meldung/Spectre-Luecke-Intels-Microcode-Updates-fuer-Linux-und-Windows-3994347.html (german but near bottom is a table) this updates are more for the oldest generations (SandyBridge/IvyBridge) which did until now not get any update at all and since i have both generations i can confirm that
