I installed the update as a possible solution to the xwayland, X11 and Gnome shell crashes I was experiencing, after advice from Gnome's bugzilla (see here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=793066). Problem is solved and up until now I haven't had other issues.
