nothing provides plasma-systemsettings >= 5.13 needed by plasma-desktop-5.13.3-2.fc28.x86_64

I had been running 5.13.x from mkyral's COPR and have since updated to test these packages.
However I noticed there is no plasma-systemsettings with these builds. That could be the issue if you was not using mkyral's builds.

I don't use mkyral's builds. Another issue is sddm-breeze theme 01-breeze-fedora uses not default F28 wallpaper background=/usr/share/wallpapers/Next/contents/images/3200x2000.png

Well, the system is working but SDDM cannot find F28 theme, nor in "plasma system settings"-> SDDM theme

Installed on home desktop and my laptop, running it for 4 days without any problems so far.

User Icon germano commented & provided feedback 6 years ago

Ok it looks like the SDDM stuff I mentioned before is just a weird blur effect applied on the theme

Works fine.

Font and anti aliasing popups don't list any options, defaults to Vertical RGB after applying settings :(

Running the update on a fairly clean F28 install, plasma shell crashes when creating a new activity and then trying to unlock widgets or change the desktop layout. Happens repeatedly.

Executable: plasmashell PID: 0000 Signal: Segmentation fault (11) Time: 7/25/18 18:00

karma: -1

I am unable to reproduce the crashes noted in the previous comment.

FWIW, I had a VM that I'd not used since late June. It had the following packages installed.

kwin-5.12.5-1.fc28.x86_64 kwin-common-5.12.5-1.fc28.x86_64 plasma-workspace-5.12.5-3.fc28.x86_64

I then did a "dnf update" and had these versions

kwin-5.12.6-1.fc28.x86_64 kwin-common-5.12.6-1.fc28.x86_64 plasma-workspace-5.12.6-1.fc28.x86_64

Then after, dnf --enablerepo=updates-testing upgrade --advisory FEDORA-2018-6729457bc2 I have

kwin-5.13.3-3.fc28.x86_64 kwin-common-5.13.3-3.fc28.x86_64 plasma-workspace-5.13.3-3.fc28.x86_64

Ok, updated successfully: I was probably between mirror syncs while 5.48 was being pushed to stable.

Hm, now that I've succeeded to update, sorry to report that plasma crashes consistently when trying to change the desktop layout between folder view and desktop. kwin and latte don't crash though. Similar to anonymous 6 comment above, and I've seen pass (but not sure that it's related):

There is a missing dependency not getting pulled in, try installing qqc2-desktop-style as this fixes a number of similar issues.

Works for me, without issues.

bug in systemmonitor and ksysguard

failed load / save configuration of columns - forgotten column selected for sort and mismatch of order & width after next run

User Icon dhgutteridge commented & provided feedback 6 years ago

Reiterating my +1. (I already had qqc2-desktop-style installed, and so didn't encounter any of those issues before.)

I could not reproduce the problem noted by radekbucek above. Both systemmonitor and ksysguard would retain the last configuration after quitting and restarting. Is it possible the ~/.config files of these utilities became owned by root at some point?

steps to reproduce problem with systemmonitor / ksysguard:

bad sort column: - press ctrl - escape for open systemmonitor - click to header of column CPU (for sort by cpu) - close systemmonitor - press ctrl - escape for open systemmonitor - check sort by

bad select of columns - press ctrl - escape for open systemmonitor - right click on header of any column - select hide column... - close systemmonitor - press ctrl - escape for open systemmonitor - check columns

With the qqc2-desktop-style package, the previous desktop layout crashing has stopped. Everything else appears to be working well for me.

plasma-systemsettings have no x86_64 arch yet, just i686. plasma-desktop still refuse to install due to plasma-systemsettings x86_64 arch missing

@abilidibob this is simply not true, i did the dist-upgrade on saturdy and yeatserday i got plsme/kf5 updates straight from updates-testing and my systems are purely x86_64

So package plasma-browser-integration is not a part of this set?
