(amazingly, the laptop was about 9 seconds faster, often the laptop is about 100 times slower!)
works for me on Intel i5-3550 x64-64 with nvidia-driver (GTX980) from rpmfusion and VirtualBox 6.0.4 from Oracle

All the Default and Performance Regression tests pass OK. AMD 965, x86_64 work station, Plasma DE, X-server, nVidia card GTX 650 (GK107) + nVidia RPM's from Negativo17.

Recinding my earlier negative karma. The key repeat problem appears to be related to the recent ibus-1.5.19-13 update.
