Enabling opencv in gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free adds ~90 deps to the package, including a whole pile of Java stuff, and these get pulled into at least the KDE live and maybe other lives too. That's not good. For Rawhide I've rebuilt with opencv disabled again for now, but it could probably be enabled but moved to a subpackage to isolate the deps.
Bodhi is disabling automatic push to stable due to negative karma. The maintainer may push manually if they determine that the issue is not severe.
Yeah, I updated my f33 test box today, and ~80 new packages got pulled in, including some big ones (scala with 22M alone, plus four different variants of openblas for some reason, adding up to 20M, vtk at 17M, opencv itself with 10M ...)
While I like that my Java packages reach a broader audience (/sarcasm) this is probably going to explode the Workstation image size (and others) by at least 100M or so :(
Thanks for testing.
There was a problem in the upstream build with disabling the opencv plugin, so I enabled it, unaware that it would cause these dependencies.
I'll move the opencv plugin into a separate subpackage, like the fluidsynth one, that is not installed by default.

I went ahead and merged adamw's opencv disabling change to F33 and kicked off a gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free build to get a temporary fix out.

yeah, I fixed the upstream bug @wtaymans mentioned :)
I suppose we could also look into whether opencv-core actually needs all those deps, or if it could be split up a bit.
Filed #1878320 for splitting up opencv-core. I think it definitely could be split up.
Works
