To test, you must break your configuration! Edit
/etc/pam.d/fingerprint-authand replace the[success=done default=bad]in thepam_fprintd.soline withsuccess. Then test without having any fingerprints enrolled.Make sure to revert all pam modifications afterwards. If you have not done anything unusual, just run:
authselect select --force sssd with-fingerprint with-silent-lastlogor make sure you have the originalfingerprint-authfile back (byte for byte).This update's test gating status has been changed to 'ignored'.

This one works for me. I'm still seeing the fingerprint error message, but I can type my password and login.
