I removed #1944646 from the bug list… We'll need to work more on this it seems.

The update works for me. It solves nsswitch.conf hosts: resolve problem.

Test Case base shutdown/reboot fails in shutdown as non-root user on tty2.

[localuser@myhost ~]$ LANG=C shutdown now Failed to set wall message, ignoring: Interactive authentication required. Failed to power off system via logind: Interactive authentication required. Failed to open initctl fifo: Permission denied Failed to talk to init daemon.

RH bug #1949505

sudo systemd-cryptenroll --tpm2-device=list PATH DEVICE DRIVER /dev/tpmrm0 MSFT0101:00 tpm_tis

That looks much better!

Thank you all for testing. Seems to work in general, so I'll push this to stable.

Test Case base shutdown/reboot fails in shutdown as non-root user on tty2.

@imsedgar That's unexpected. Seems to work here (OK, it doesn't work because PCP doesn't want to shut down, but it works in the sense that the shutdown initiates…). And there haven't been any changes to systemctl or systemd-logind that would seem relevant. Please file a bug, and include logs and loginctl user-status output.

@zbyszek I have tested the test case again. It works as expected. Sorry, it was my fault.

The reason for the error was that we use autofs for /home, so I couldn't create a local user with base home directory in /home. I had chosen /var/local/localuser as home directory for localuser. But the SELinux context of the directoryies and files are wrong (var_t), I think this was the reason for the fault. I have created a new directory /var/localhome and set selinux fcontext equalence to /home (and run restorecon), and then created a user with home directory /var/localhome/localuser, and now it works. It also worked with users on nfs in /home.

It denied to shutdown / reboot when other users are logged in, but I think this is intended.
