Default test: PASS

Performance test: PASS

Model: Dell Latitude 7490

CPU: Intel i7-8650U, GPU: UHD 620, Storage: Samsung 970 EVO, Network: Intel 8265 & Intel I219-LM

Problems:

  1. I am still seeing [drm] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun in dmesg.
  2. Seamless boot/Flicker Free Boot has been broken since kernel 5.11.10, Plymouth will briefly switch to showing console messages during startup and shutdown.

Meant to say "kernel 5.10.10" and not "kernel 5.11.10"

Looks ok for me. Runs since it was ready in koji. Works on baremetal (non UEFI mode) AMD Ryzen5 3600, Mainboard MSI B450M Mortar Max with prop. nvidia driver from rpmfusion.org (GTX980 card), VirtualBox 6.1.18 from Oracle and Gnome-Desktop (Xorg). Regression test passed (paxtest, selinux-dac-controls and libhugetlbfs skipped).

Well spotted @tseewald - noticed the flicker as well at the boot time before asking for drive decryption key. Also some dmesg issues occasionally as well.

As of 5.10.10 I am receiving several problem messages such as "The backtrace does not contain enough meaningful function frames to be reported. It is annoying but it does not necessarily signalize a problem with your computer. ABRT will not allow you to create a report in a bug tracking system but you can contact kernel maintainers via email. " What is happening?

User Icon tseewald commented & provided feedback 3 years ago

@markec Fortunately the issue with flickering boot has been fixed upstream, and will land in v5.10.13.
