Tested, works. W^X is fixed for all cases where I previously ran into it.
Crashes on default settings, have to change "output = opengl" to "output = texture"
After that everything else is fine, tried with Doom/Duke3D/Heretic/Hexen
core = dynamic Works Built in Fluidsynth Works mt32 (with roms) Works
This update can be pushed to stable now if the maintainer wishes
@lemonzest - what hardware / drivers did you test with? Was it in a VM or real hardware?
Personally I tested with AMD and Mesa drivers - for me it works fine with OpenGL, but I would prefer to know what's causing the OpenGL-related crash.

Bare metal, AMD Ryzen 7 1700, 48GB RAM, AMD Radeon 5600XT 6GB, fully up to date fedora 34, running GNOME 40 Wayland. Switching to texture still says its using OpenGL as output.
