FEDORA-2022-4d3f456d01 created by mystro256 4 months ago for Fedora 35
testing

Follow up to the previous patch for #2028701:

  • drop an explicit call to enable NetworkManager-dispatcher.service when installing tlp-rdw, user will need to do this if desired
  • unmask previously masked services on upgrade to this build, user can do this manually if desired

Note that running "tlp-stat -s" can provide suggestions if tlp is not functioning correctly.

Update to 1.5.0

Added NFC support, sony and ThinkPad related battery features, as well as some bug fixes.

See upstream changelog: https://github.com/linrunner/TLP/blob/main/changelog

A few changes to fix some packaging guideline violations:

  • tlp package cannot disable rfkill service, since it does not own it
  • tlp service cannot be enabled by default (user must enable it manually)

How to install

sudo dnf upgrade --enablerepo=updates-testing --advisory=FEDORA-2022-4d3f456d01

After install TLP when I ran tlp-stat i see that power-profiles is broke with TLP and suggest masking this, two rfkill service suggest masking. Do you mean that is wrong messages?

tlp-stat -s

Error: conflicting power-profiles-daemon.service is enabled, power saving will not apply on boot.

Invoke 'systemctl mask power-profiles-daemon.service' to correct this!

Warning: systemd-rfkill.service is not masked, radio device switching may not work as configured.

Invoke 'systemctl mask systemd-rfkill.service' to correct this.

Warning: systemd-rfkill.socket is not masked, radio device switching may not work as configured.

Invoke 'systemctl mask systemd-rfkill.socket' to correct this.

This update can be pushed to stable now if the maintainer wishes

@pawef9 the point of the change is to remove the package automation. Rather the user should be making the choice to follow tlp-stat's suggestions.

Unfortunately power profiles is incompatible with tlp, so you have to choose between the two.
