Works for me: all using the Mate Desktop Environment.

sirius: desktop 16GB Intel i7-3770 CPU desktop (SSD + 5 hard drives in RAID-6) real:10m11.528s user:4m36.350s sys:5m3.970s

sedna: laptop 8GB Intel i5-2520M CPU Lenovo T420 (SSD only) real:10m4.819s user:4m4.514s sys:4m50.400s

*** I’m intensely curious as to the reason for why sedna seems to randomly fluctuate between short (normally under 11 minutes) & extremely long (100+ minutes) elapsed times for the performance test!

@geraldosimiao For me both perf record true and perf top work fine without a segfault. Are you sure you updated all the packages correctly?

With the appropriate kernel option (nvidia-drm.modeset=1), previous functionality returns when using the Nvidia driver. See: Blanks TTY with NVIDIA driver since f36 upgrade

Tested for the nvidia efifb fix, works very well for that, no regressions noticed otherwise, works for me on my box

@omos I was running with perf-5.17.6-300.fc36.x86_64 indeed. After upgrading to perf-5.17.11-300.fc36.x86_64 all worked as expected.
