The openQA results indicate this is entirely broken, absolutely no logins work after updating to this authselect.

correction: login as root is broken. Login as regular user (and subsequent sudo su or su) work OK. So not as bad as I thought, but still pretty bad.

This update has been pushed to testing.

Bodhi is disabling automatic push to stable due to negative karma. The maintainer may push manually if they determine that the issue is not severe.

Reverting back to 1.4.0-3 makes root logins work again.
