BZ#2072785 Bug in mt7921e causes kernel crash on reboot (not on cold boot)
User Icon tmus commented & provided feedback 2 years ago

This bug was easily reproducible on 5.17.1, but I have yet to see it on 5.17.2 after trying pretty hard for some 30 minutes. Looks like it's been resolved in 5.17.2.

Works for me: all using the Mate Desktop Environment.

sirius: desktop 16GB Intel i7-3770 CPU desktop (SSD + 5 hard drives in RAID-6) real:10m13.498s user:4m37.250s sys:5m6.493s

sedna: laptop 8GB Intel i5-2520M CPU Lenovo T420 (SSD only) real:9m34.860s user:3m46.023s sys:4m45.965s

mercury: laptop 32GB AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon 5500 Graphics (SSD only) rea1:14m48.209s user:6m46.342s sys:6m5.535s

*** I’m intensely curious as to the reason for why sedna seems to randomly fluctuate between short (normally under 11 minutes) & extremely long (100+ minutes) elapsed times for the performance test!

Works for me.. It's been running for a few hours now with no issues noticed. The enabled Default and Performance tests pass OK.

AMD 965, x86_64 Work Station (legacy BIOS) SSD's > RAID1. Plasma DE from Zawertun's COPR. nVidia GT1030 card using nVidia RPM's from RPMFusion (510.60.02)

@jforbes Can you please take a look at this? https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2074674

5.17.x kernel causes audio cutouts in some devices, due to a memory allocation error, a workaround and patch exists here: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/issues/2272
