So the openQA failure here is 'real' - it's failing consistently (four out of four tries across prod and stg) and it's not failing on other F36 updates.

I suspect the problem is that this update makes the firmware a lot bigger, and that causes us to go oversize on the root FS used for live image builds. We can bump that size, but it might be nice to see if I'm right that the size is the problem, and if so, if anything can be done to avoid the package being significantly bigger; it will also affect the final size of size-sensitive images.

So yeah, according to Koji's numbers, this linux-firmware build is 16MB bigger than the previous one: 203MB vs 187MB. Quite a chunk of that seems to be due to new mellanox firmwares. I'd suggest we split those into a subpackage, since probably nobody is ever going to want them on Fedora.

Works fine on both Ryzen-based desktop + AMDGPU and on an Intel based laptop

Working fine on X1 Nano.

So we merged a PR to increase the root FS size for the KDE live kickstart in F36, and now the test passes. I am worried about the effect of this larger linux-firmware on image sizes, but I'll follow up on that elsewhere as it's more an F37 issue than an F36 one.

Filed https://github.com/weldr/lorax/pull/1229 to try and claw back most of the lost space in installer images.
