Fixed character encoding when invoking git, editors, etc.
Replace NamedTemporaryFile usage since it does not work on Windows
Use the git's mbox format variant so that line endings are correct in emails
Use git format-patch --cover-from-description=none so cover letters are always populated correctly by git-publish
Print an error when invoked outside a git repo
