I'm just a basic user who found his way here but, since linux-firmware has been split, is there a reason for the extra 40MB from mt7xxx-firmware, atheros-firmware, brcmfmac-firmware, and realtek-firmware to be a hard-dependency? I noticed it when upgrading for 37, that excluding any of them skips linux-firmware's updates. I feel like if all the those 4 can also be defaults/optionals if more the dozen iwl firmwares aren't included as well
