Working OK.

Once updated to the new version, cockpit breaks when trying to log into confined user accounts:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2229146
In short, cockpit is in its new version no longer compatible with / compliant to SELinux.
But I cannot exclude that any other update of the recent days is the origin of the problem (I have not used cockpit for several days). However, I guess this is unlikely.
