so yeah, a %pre script was added that calls %{_sbindir}/alternatives, but there is no Requires(pre): alternatives, nor is the script set to fire only on upgrades (which is a sensible precaution/optimization if it is intended only to handle upgrade scenarios), nor does the final command have || :, our house style for ensuring scriptlets always exit 0, which is required by the packaging guidelines.
