The failures here look like something real - in some of the KDE tests, KDE crashed on startup after installing the update and rebooting. I'm on PTO till Tuesday, if someone else can look into it before then that'd be great. Logs at https://openqa.fedoraproject.org/tests/3280249# , including a coredump.
I can reproduce this. It also happens with
glibc-2.41.9000-2.fc43.x86_64
if rebuilt against the current buildroot. The original-2
build is fine. There was an update fromgcc-15.0.1-0.7.fc42.x86_64
togcc-15.0.1-0.9.fc43.x86_64
.Thanks. Can I take it you and Carlos will look into it from there?
@adamwill Yes, I'm looking into it. Bisecting GCC now. The crash does not reproduce when building current glibc sources with
gcc-15.0.1-0.7.fc42.x86_64
.Bisected down to GCC's r15-7400.
And
malloc/malloc.os
is the file that is miscompiled. This update has been obsoleted by glibc-2.41.9000-4.fc43.
