I'm not sure this fixes the issue because from 165MB my initrd became 144MB. This is with the nvidia firmware. Still a change in the right direction. Maybe there are multiple issues at play.
Thanks! Yes; the firmware still probably needs to be there in your case. It's a revert to previous behaviour, but next Fedora release has at this point all the patches. We'll see if upstream comes with a reasonable solution.
