Intel Corporation TigerLake-H GT1 [UHD Graphics] [8086:9a60] (rev 01)kwin_wayland[3348]: Pageflip timed out! This is a bug in the amdgpu kernel driver I run an RX 7900 XT and started experiencing this after this update. There are already reports for this at the freedesktop gitlab for mesa.
Work great with an RX 7900 XTX
@piejacker875 Please provide links for those upstream reports, which you believe affect this update, thank you.
@piejacker875 I see reports upstream for your issue:
The most recent one I found is already ~2 month old, so it looks like older versions are affected?
In the first bug report, a mesa developer points to power management options, have you tried to try some of the workarounds suggested? https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/work_items/14826#note_3322962
Also, @sluttykitty didn't report issues with the same GPU and test case. How often does this bug happen?
I don't want to push a mesa version with a know regression, however, RPM Fusion already pushed this version, causing issues to user that are trying to update. Therefore, I think that not pushing this version could cause more problems than pushing it: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2467281
I'll wait a bit for your feedback and think about the decision that will cause less problems.
I'd just like to chime in here about RX 7900XT(X), I have been running bleeding edge mesa and kernel as soon as it comes out in testing (sometimes even downloading from Koji), also ran FC44 since mid March as a daily driver. I run the KDE desktop, it was an upgrade from FC43 but I have enabled plasma login manager as of a couple weeks ago.
I have never seen the pageflip bug on my machine, I have ran ~20 different Steam/Gog games without any gamebreaking bugs or instability. Sure, a few occasional black triangles currently in Dune: Awakening after its latest feature-patch, and KDE has black on black scrollbars in Konsole. Nothing logged that point to their causes.
I guess that the pageflip bug may not be a general problem but rather it requires some combination of settings/conditions to be triggered. See my specs/settings below, hopefully it can be useful in narrowing down the circumstances triggering the bug.
Btw, personally I tend to suspect VRAM issues whenever I have GPU instability (have had too many gpus with vram corruption at stock settings, probably due to buying factory-overclocked gpus). I have used memtest_vulkan to pinpoint/exclude those issues https://github.com/GpuZelenograd/memtest_vulkan

Thanks for the additional context @dead2 !
I have spoke with some mesa developers and these are some tips they gave me:
I'll push the release because I think that, with all this information, blocking it could cause more harm (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2467281) that not doing it.
This update has been submitted for stable by jexposit.
I have both a 7900 XT and XTX, I have not been able to reproduce the pageflip issue (in fact I have noted no regressions in any testing I have done). Nor even on mobile RDNA3 (7700S). I'm also on kernel 6.19.14, so this makes things even murkier in terms of mesa vs kernel regressions.
Do we have more details on what was being run whenever this bug triggers? If we know specific circumstances I can try hitting them, but I admittedly do not own one of the games reported to have triggered this issue.
This update has been pushed to stable.
I apologize for jumping the gun in making my report. It has only occurred once for me.
