Plugging in a headset breaks the sound system completely.
There is no sound output in headset and in speakers.
Even a system reboot doesn't change anything.
Additional information and warning : This is really a very severe issue !
Downgrading pipewire to an older version doesn't resolve the issue.
Once one plugs in a headset, the sound system is broken forever.
I was only able to solve the problem by restoring a system backup image.
Then I downgraded the pipewire packages manually to version 1.6.3.
After rebooting the system everything worked as expected again.
Connecting headphones also disables all sound for me because the line out volume gets turned off (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/work_items/5246).
Completely breaks all audio on two devices for me - MSI X870E Carbon Wifi Desktop - Lenovo Yoga 6 Laptop
No audio devices are present, alsa backend fails to start, no audio input or output from any device. Downgrading to 1.6.2 resolved it on both devices.
