Verified that this update successfully fixes the MaterialX crashes (BZ#2492227 / BZ#2492656). Blender no longer crashes on startup or during execution due to the previous symbol lookup errors.
Side note: I noticed an OCIO error on startup (config.ocio requests version 2.5, but F44 has 2.4.2), which forces Blender into color management fallback mode. However, this seems to be an older, preexisting issue with the package and is not a regression of this update.
