The failures here indicate tty bugs (not surprisingly given the changelog). It seems like when we boot graphically, doing ctrl-alt-f3 or ctrl-alt-f6 appears to do nothing; it doesn't switch to a tty with a login prompt (as expected), it doesn't switch to a blank screen, the system just stays on the login screen or desktop.
When we boot in text mode, we get a working console on tty1, but doing ctrl-alt-f3 or ctrl-alt-f6 gives a blank screen, not another tty.
Yeah, it seems that the getty@.service unit does not get enabled. I was debugging this yesterday and ran out of time. This update is definitely borked.
