Works okay on gnome 44, maybe testing was on kde
This requires FEDORA-2026-367d9a0b61 . Once that is pushed stable, this can be re-tested.
works well

I'm not sure if firefox or some dependency is responsible, but the handling of downloaded files has changed in strange and not very convenient ways. I used to be able to select a tmpfs /tmp as browser.download.dir, but now when I do this and select "Save as...", the browser attempts to save files in a parent directory, /. If I select ~/Downloads, and use "Save as...", it attempts to save files in ~ (i.e., $HOME). If I select the option "Always ask you where to save files", which sets browser.download.useDownloadDir=false, and download a file, the same behavior occurs. Moreover, if I browse to an alternative download location, and save something there, the browser does not, as it used to do, remember this alternative location for the duration of the session, and offer to download files there, but rather returns each time to the parent directory of browser.download.dir.
Looks OK here.

The freeze is coming up, and I figure we want this in, so I've submitted nss for stable myself and added it as a workaround in openQA so I can re-run the tests on this update and they should pass, then hopefully get it in the final push before freeze.

This update can be pushed to stable now if the maintainer wishes

I reported a regression in the save file dialog handling here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2030256
Firefox moved to use XDG portals by default, for the file picker.
