it doesn't work, in which case, please file bugs, as this should be fully API
compatible with the old google-perftools package.
Sorry, that wasn't my intention. I guess Pound needs a rebuild and has to be
pushed simultaneously with gperftools, or will pushing gperftools to stable
resolve this?

Tried it with Pound, it now even works with x86_64.
