I have been running these for the last 24hrs on my CentOS 6 server, backups are performing as expected. I am using MySQL 5.5.47 from the IUS project as the database, the DB content is a Mediawiki 1.25.x scheme. The default holland-mysqldump provider is in use, holland is triggered from a cronjob on a regular schedule.
Thanks for all the feedback. We have reached the original karma threshold, but best practices state you should not push a change like this over the weekend. We will work to push these updated packages into the EPEL stable repositories early next week.

Tested that new fixes work as advertised and could not find any regressions or new issues.

Appears working on RHEL 6.7 without issue.

Works for me on CentOS7. Tested basic mysqldump, LVM (tar + mysqldump) and percona-xtrabackup.
